Every day, there will be changes in the growing trend among internet users. These changes are the impact of ongoing technological change towards more sophisticated. As a designer, in designing we should also follow the changing trends in society for the design that we make more acceptable by most visitors.
A statistic that is presented on the site W3Schools least to give us an idea about the audience who will see our website.
Browser
The browser is the "vehicle" surf, which is used by audiences to see and browse the sites we design. Browser wars like the dotcom rush era around 1999, likely will return there, slowly but surely, users of Internet Explorer began to decrease, on the other hand, users of Gecko-based browser is Mozilla Firefox increased.
Statstik Browser
While Microsoft has tried to refresh again with the launch of IE7 browser engine, but seemed unable to put a halt to Firefox users. Most likely in the next 1 year will be a balanced market share between Mozilla and Internet Explorer Firefix.

Looking at the above statistics, optimization design (including CSS support) remains to be done with reference to Internet Explorer 6, followed by Firefox.
Monitor Resolution
Apparently, we must begin to move the bow in designing the dimensions / size of a site when we initially designed by using the width 800px (optimization monitor 800 x 600), now we should begin to adapt to the size of 1024px width (optimized at 1024 x 768). VGA monitor technology trends and development has become so capable of displaying images with higher resolution.
Monitor Resolution Stats
According to statistics, 640 x 480 resolution have become extinct since 2005. Low resolution on the monitor in my experience, very difficult to design because the workspace to be smaller, but very software tools and panels take place. As a designer it would be nice resolution of the monitor to work is greater than 1024 x 768, but in our design remains based on the width of 800px or 1024px.
Color Depth, Java Script and OS
As many as 86% of users are now using a color monitor with support for up to 24 or 32 bits as many as 16,777,216 colors. Sedangankan users enable javascript by 94%. From here we can make the consideration of image file format and javascript effects that we will provide on site that we created. As for the operating system, in December 2006 the highest position held by the family of Windows, by holding around 90% market share.
What is discussed in this article is as an illustration, we can not completely rely on the statistics, statistics are often inaccurate due to error detection or recognition system. What we are doing quite dependent on the audience that we are going, the professionals who most use the system hardware and the latest sooftware is different from the ordinary user.
